What You Need for this Grapefruit & Mint Limeade

  • LMNT Grapefruit Electrolyte Mix: Not only is this drink/mocktail incredibly tasty and refreshing, it’s also packed with electrolytes thanks to LMNT. Each packet of LMNT contains a science-backed ratio of sodium, potassium and magnesium to help you stay hydrated and feeling great.

Unlike other “sports drinks” or electrolyte mixes, LMNT has no sugar, no junk ingredients and no artificial colorings. They come in a variety of flavours and can be added to drinks like this Grapefruit & Mint Limeade, or can just be mixed with water.
  • Fresh Mint: You can use any variety of fresh mint you like here. I like to add between 6 and 8 leaves per serving. Mint is a powerful herb and can overwhelm the drink if you add too much so be careful not to overdo it. Try to set some mint aside for a nice garnish as well.
  • Lime: Use both the lime zest and lime juice. Feel free to substitute lemon if that’s what you have or prefer.
  • Water: You’ll need some cold, filtered water to blend the limeade in the blender, as well as some sparkling mineral water to top it off before enjoying.
  • Ice: I think this drink tastes best when it’s blended with some ice. It turns into a slushy, which helps cool you down a bit.
  • Optional: You can also try adding some cucumber to the blender for an even more refreshing taste. Or some raspberries for extra fibre, vitamins and flavour. This limeade is also great with the LMNT Raspberry Electrolyte Mix.

Why LMNT?

If you follow a whole-food diet, exercise regularly and find that you struggle with headaches, muscle cramps or fatigue, it could be that your body is dehydrated and low on electrolytes – especially sodium.

Whole food diets are naturally low in dietary sodium and if you exercise regularly, there’s a chance you excrete more sodium than you take in. This is particularly true if you drink plenty of water, upwards of 3 litres, because you end up urinating more than usual.

The answer is not to just drink more water. In fact, that might make your symptoms worse. It turns out the solution is to add sodium and electrolytes back into your system.

LMNT was created by former research biochemist Robb Wolf and ketogains founder Luis Villasenor, to solve this problem. LMNT has enough sodium, potassium, and magnesium to keep you feeling and performing your best. Plus, unlike other “sports drinks” and electrolyte supplements, LMNT has ZERO sugar, artificial colours, or other junk ingredients that work against you.
