Privacy Policy
Updated October 21, 2026.
Primal Gourmet Inc. (PrimalGourmet, “we,” “us” or “our”) operates cookprimalgourmet.com from Ontario, Canada. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you browse our website, sign up for our newsletter, request a recipe by email, leave a comment or contact us. It also explains how to make a privacy request.
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected] and address your message to PrimalGourmet Privacy. This policy describes our practices; it does not replace a consent choice requested when you use a particular feature.
Information you provide
- Newsletter subscriptions. When you subscribe, we collect your name and email address to send recipes, news and other PrimalGourmet updates. Our newsletter form uses WPForms. Your name and email address are sent to Flodesk, our email marketing provider. See Flodesk’s privacy policy. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact us for help.
- Recipe emails. When you use “Save this recipe straight to your email inbox,” we collect your email address together with the recipe title and page link to send you the requested recipe. Requesting a recipe through this form is separate from subscribing to our newsletter.
- Comments and ratings. If you comment on or rate a recipe, we collect the information you submit, including your name, email address, comment and rating. Approved comments, display names and ratings can be visible to other visitors. Your email address is not displayed as part of your comment. Avoid including private or sensitive information in a public comment.
- Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any information you choose to include. We use this to respond and manage the correspondence.
Newsletter and recipe-email submissions are also stored in our WordPress website. When you submit a form, we may also collect technical information, including your IP address and browser details, and use a WPForms cookie identifier. This information can support form operation, troubleshooting and protection against misuse.
Information collected when you browse
Our website and the services that help deliver it can receive technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages requested, date and time, and interactions with website features or advertisements. An IP address can also be used to estimate a general location. Cookies, scripts, pixels and similar technologies may be used for website functions, analytics, security, reader features and advertising.
We use Google Analytics 4 to help understand website traffic and how visitors use our content. Google’s handling of information is described in its privacy policy. Analytics settings and data practices can differ from the settings used by our advertising providers.
Hosting, security and spam prevention
BigScoots hosts our WordPress website. Cloudflare services help deliver and protect it, and our email forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. These services may process request, device and browser information for their functions. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We use Akismet to help screen comments for spam. Comment information and related technical details may be processed for that purpose. Pages also use Gravatar-hosted avatar images. See Automattic’s privacy notice for visitors to sites using its services for information about Akismet and its visitor data practices.
Advertising
We use the advertising services of CMI Marketing, Inc., doing business as Raptive (“Raptive”). Raptive collects and uses information to provide advertising on this website. Details about its data practices are available in the Raptive Advertising Privacy Statement.
Advertising services may use cookies and other identifiers, technical information and browsing activity to select and measure ads, including interest-based ads. Some privacy laws describe certain advertising-related disclosures as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising, even when money is not exchanged for the information. Raptive’s statement explains its advertising partners and the choices it provides.
Use any advertising privacy or consent controls displayed to you on the website to review the choices available for your region. Raptive’s statement also describes how it handles Global Privacy Control signals. A choice within one provider’s system does not necessarily change the settings of separate services such as analytics, newsletter tools or your browser.
Reader features, videos and external websites
Our website includes Slickstream reader-engagement features, including favorites. Those features involve a third-party service and may use identifiers and information about interactions with content. Slickstream is part of the Raptive product family; see Slickstream’s privacy information.
Some recipe cards also link to Grow for saving a recipe. If you follow that link or use an account with Grow, review the applicable Grow information in Mediavine’s Legal and Privacy Center.
Videos, social links, advertisements, affiliate links and cookbook or kitchen-product links may connect you with other providers or retailers. These third parties can receive technical information when their content loads or you follow a link, and information you provide directly to them is handled under their own policies. Purchases through our retailer links take place with the retailer. Review the relevant provider’s privacy policy before supplying information or making a purchase.
How we use and disclose information
We use information for the purposes described above: delivering the website and requested recipe emails, sending newsletters to subscribers, publishing and moderating comments and ratings, responding to messages, understanding and improving our content, supporting advertising, and protecting the website from spam, fraud and other misuse.
Information is processed by the providers that perform these functions, including hosting, email delivery and marketing, analytics, advertising, reader features and security services. Some providers also process information for purposes explained in their own privacy notices. We may disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or security. If ownership of the business changes, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
Cookies and your choices
- You can use your browser or device settings to block or remove cookies and manage other storage. Disabling them can affect forms, preferences and reader features. Blocking cookies alone may not prevent every type of data collection.
- Our comment form offers a choice to save your name, email and website details in your browser for a later comment. You can leave this option unchecked and can clear remembered details through your browser.
- Use the advertising controls made available to you and the provider choices linked in Raptive’s advertising privacy statement. Browser controls and advertising choices can depend on the browser, device, location and provider.
- You can stop receiving our newsletter through its unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing changes marketing delivery; it does not necessarily erase form submissions, correspondence or the provider’s record of your unsubscribe choice. Contact us separately if you want to request access, correction or deletion.
Storage, retention and security
Information may be held in WordPress form submissions and comments, email correspondence, newsletter systems, technical logs and service-provider systems. How long information is needed depends on its purpose, including providing a requested feature, managing published comments, maintaining unsubscribe preferences, addressing security issues and meeting legal obligations.
Our retention goal is to keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for those purposes and applicable requirements. You may contact us to ask about information we hold or request its deletion. Requests are subject to any information that must be retained under applicable law and to the scope of our control over a third party’s records.
We use hosting, security and spam-prevention tools to help protect the website and information handled through it. No website, transmission or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or sensitive health information through comments or ordinary email.
Processing outside Canada
Although Primal Gourmet Inc. operates from Ontario, our providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Privacy protections can differ between countries, and information processed elsewhere may be accessible to courts, law enforcement or other authorities under that country’s laws. Contact us with questions about our use of providers outside Canada.
Your privacy requests and concerns
You can contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, how it is used or disclosed, or to request access or correction. You may also ask to withdraw consent or request deletion. Depending on where you live and the law that applies, additional rights may include restricting or objecting to certain processing, receiving a portable copy, or opting out of certain advertising-related uses. Applicable exceptions and limits may affect a request, and withdrawing information needed for a feature may prevent us from providing that feature.
Email [email protected] with “Privacy Request” or “Privacy Concern” in the subject line. Tell us which feature or information your request concerns and the email address you used. Please do not send government identification or sensitive documents in your first message. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity and clarify the request before providing or changing personal information.
We will review your request and respond in accordance with applicable law. Where information is controlled by a separate provider, we may direct you to its request process. If you have a concern about our handling of information, please raise it with us. You may also contact the appropriate privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children’s information
Please do not use our forms or public comments to submit personal information about children. If you believe a child’s personal information has been provided to us and should be removed, contact us so we can review the concern.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website, services or privacy practices change. The date above identifies the latest update. Where a change requires a new notice or consent under applicable law, we will address that requirement separately.
