More than ever before, I’ll be looking for ways to naturally and effectively support my immune system. The weather is getting colder and colder, and the sun is setting earlier and earlier. For me and my family, that means less time spent outdoors and less exposure to the sun, a natural source of vitamin D.

Alongside an anti-inflammatory diet full of nutrient-dense foods, I often incorporate a variety of herbal teas. For the past year, I’ve been drinking Traditional Medicinals exclusively. First of all, the variety of teas they offer is insane. We’re talking dozens and dozens of teas that are high-quality, organic and taste great.

Traditional Medicinals Reishi Mushroom Tea with Rooibos and Orange Peel

Traditional Medicinals Reishi Mushroom with Rooibos and Orange Peel Is available on Amazon, making it even easier to shop for. First and foremost, reishi is a superfood mushroom with a host of benefits. Often referred to as “the Queen of Mushrooms,” it has been used by eastern holistic practitioners for thousands of years. Not only does it help support a healthy immune system, but it is also traditionally used as an adaptogen to help keep your body in balance.

Let me guess, you’re wondering how it tastes? Well, rest assured, it doesn’t taste anything like you imagine. Assuming, of course, you’re imagining it tastes like mushrooms. Unlike more common mushroom varieties that you may be used to cooking, such as portobello, cremini or the ubiquitous button, Reishi has an earthy flavour profile. When paired with the sweetness of rooibos and citrusy notes of orange peel, it’s delicious. It’s also caffeine-free, making it perfect for evening sipping.

Although I can talk about flavour until I’m blue in the face, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not an expert herbalist and the last thing you want is to be taking my word for anything. Luckily, Traditional Medicinals will be hosting a free “Herbs for Immunity” Instagram Live on @tradmedicinals on October 14 at 4pm PST (7pm EST).I have no doubt it will be a valuable webinar and resource for everyone and I’m excited to tune in. After all, winter is coming!

You can also check out at any time to view their full line of teas and for more information on any of their varieties. They have incredible resources!
